Notes

This is a dual-medium seminar, including both the internet and face to face sessions on weekday evenings and/or weekends.

This page will develop along with the seminar; and is intended to provide Biblical references and supplementary material.

THE POWERS THAT BE is a biblically based approach to social ethics, with implications for our understanding of Jesus' mission, method, and person. Wink believes that "the myth of redemptive violence," found originally in ancient imperial cultures, is at the root of violence in our culture today; and that Jesus dealt quite intentionally and decisively with the culture of violence.
